The Butch Cassidy Sound System is a Reggae, Funk & Dub project by the UK’s Michael Hunter who is arguably best known for the music that he composed for the Grand Theft Auto computer games San Andreas & IV.[1] The debut album called Butches Brew features 10 tracks which includes a cover version of Cissy Strut which was originally recorded by The Meters.[2] Cissy Strut featured in series 4, episode 14 of the BBC TV show Waterloo Road (TV series)[3] and has been featured on many compilations compiled by artists including Belle & Sebastian,[4] Groove Armada,[5] Chris Coco and Rob da Bank.[6] The track 'The Putney' was featured in Babylon Central, a film written and directed by Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation.[7] The title 'The Putney' is in reference to the vintage keyboard called the VCS3 made by EMS which featured in the track[8] as the VCS3's nickname was 'the putney'.[9] Michael also records under the pseudonym Pablo.[10]
